Shane Cameron (16-0) 233 lbs has issued a challenge to fellow countryman David Tua after he scored a ten round stoppage over Roger Izonritie (11-5) 238 lbs to capture the IBF Pan Pacific and WBA Pan African titles at the ABA Stadium, Auckland, New Zealand in a grueling heavyweight bout on Friday.

The Kiwi began the bout in aggressive style applying pressure on the 6 foot 5 inch Australian based Nigerian in round one scoring with sharp head and body punches. Izonritei came back in rounds two and three connecting with effective straight lefts and right crosses on the 6'1 Cameron which had him bleeding from cuts over the eyes. Izonritie was dropped in rounds four and five by right hand bombs but survived by using his long reach advantage staying out of range Cameron's power shots. In round seven Izonritie was dropped again by a hard left rip to the body and was on wobbly legs until the bell sounded. The Kiwi connected with effective straight lefts and right crosses in round eight but the game visitor came back strong in round nine scoring with long range bombs. In round ten Cameron dropped Izonritie again and referee Lance Reville saved the import from further punishment after he was on the canvas for a fourth time.

The manager of Cameron Ken Reinsfield said. "That was a great win by Shane tonight - he showed guts and determination to defeat the tough Izonritie. We have challenged David Tua to fight Shane but he does not seem interested. Shane is a former sparring partner of David's and we are very confident of victory. I think the Cameron vs Tua would be a great fight for New Zealand similar to the recent Anthony Mundine vs Danny Green bout in Australia which attracted a live gate of over 30 thousand fight fans."

Cameron scored two wins in the USA during 2005 winning a ten round decision over James Walton (21-7-2) and scoring a four round knockout over Nigerian Adele Olakanye (6-5-2). He is a former 2002 Commonwealth Games Bronze medallist and is currently under contract to Gary Shaw.

In the main supporting bout world rated cruiserweight (WBA) Mohammed Azzaoui (17-0) scored eight round points decision over James Ellis (4-5) of Australia. Ellis extended the New Zealand based Algerian in most of the round contested.

Heavyweight Lawrence Tauasa (24-4) scored a knockout over Fatu Tui Tuimanona (7-6-1) at 1 minute 26 seconds of round two.

In a crowd pleasing heavyweight slugfest Aussie Mark de Mori (9-1-2) 247lbs seemed unlucky to have to share a draw verdict with Elisara Sii Uta (8-6-1) 235 lbs after six action packed rounds that had the local man on the canvas.
