TIMOTHY “DESERT STORM” BRADLEY, JR.
BIOGRAPHY

Timothy Bradley, Jr. Bradley was born in 1984 in Palm Springs, California to Kathleen and Timothy Bradley.  Bradley was a natural athlete and coaches tried to get him to play football, but his passion was boxing and at the early age of 10, he already had his sites set on becoming a world champion boxer.

Bradley began boxing at age 10 and compiled an incredible amateur record that included 140 amateur bouts.  His amateur career was not confined to the borders of the United States.  Bradley has fought in France, Germany and Tahiti. He took the titles at the PAL National Tournament, and became the Under 19 National Tournament Champion and the Jr. Golden Gloves Champion.  Bradley was part of the US National Team and was a perfect candidate for the 2004 Olympic team.  However, a regulation that combined the 147 pound division with the 152 pound division prevented him from fighting at the 2004 Olympics in Athens, Greece.  This decision did not slow him down.  As an amateur, Bradley was a two-time National Champion and before turning professional was ranked 3rd in the nation.

Bradley started his professional career in August of 2004 against Francisco Martinez in Corona, California with a TKO in the 2nd round.  He continued to press towards his goal of becoming World Champion by winning the vacant WBC Youth Welterweight Title in September 2005 when he defeated Francisco Rincon by unanimous decision.

When asked why he is known as “Desert Storm”, Bradley explains he offers his opponents and his fans an all-out war each time he steps in the ring and this was a great way to honor all the service men and women that have successfully defended our country.

In 2005, Bradley received a WBC World Championship Medal from WBC President, Jose Sulaiman in the closing ceremonies of the 2005 Convention in La Linea De La Concepcio, Spain.  In addition to being the former WBC Welterweight Champion, Bradley is ranked #11 in the WBC at 140 pounds and is the current WBC Jr. Welterweight Youth Champion.

Bradley is known for his lightning fast hands and his powerful knock-out punches with the ability to adjust to any boxing style.  He has been compared to Mike Tyson in his abilities and power.  He looks up to Roy Jones, Jr., Shane Mosely and Zab Judah.

Bradley currently lives in Palm Springs and trains at the Coachella Boys and Girls Club in Indio, California.  His trainer, Joel Diaz is a former fighter and brother of current champion, Julio Diaz and former champion Antionio Diaz. His father, Bradley, Sr. is his conditioning trainer and also coaches him.
